The Western Reserve (OH) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated’s 5th Masked Mardi Gras Benefit Gala in spring, 2014, raised more than $100,000.
Proceeds from the event are being used to support the Chapter’s community programs that positively impact the lives of women and children in the areas of health, education, social and economic equality.
Link Margot James Copeland, National President of The Links, Incorporated and Central Area Director Alice Strong Simmons, were among the nearly 400 guests at the gala.
KeyBank Foundation, the benefit’s presenting sponsor, received a community service award in appreciation of its sustaining support of the Chapter’s service initiatives. And, a check for $10,000 was presented to the Warner Girls’ Leadership Academy. For the past six years, the Chapter has partnered with the Academy, a part of the Cleveland Metropolitan School District, to provide programming designed to empower the Warner girls to use their voices to become effective leaders through education and experiences. The funds presented at the gala were used to purchase Kindle E-readers for the students to share while at school beginning in the fall of 2014.
Thank you to our sponsors, friends and contributors for making our 5th Masked Mardi Gras Benefit a success!
