Delta Teacher Efficacy Campaign (DTEC) “A Call to Action”
On October 24, 2015, members of the Western Reserve (OH) Chapter joined the Greater Cleveland Alumnae Chapter of The Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated and other community leaders for a town hall meeting about enhancing the effectiveness and efficacy of OUR classroom teachers.  The most important factor in a student’s success is the person standing in front of the classroom.  Teachers Believing = Students Achieving.  Serving as guest speakers for this important conversation were the Honorable Marcia L. Fudge, Congresswoman 11th District and Dr. Gregory Hutchins, Shaker Hts Superintendent, in addition to contributions from local educators, students and parents. Western Reserve Chapter was among the 180 participants heeding the Call to Action. Research shows that teachers, who are confident in their own abilities and their students’ abilities to achieve, produce the strongest students and the best academic results. As such, Services to Youth will continue working with the Delta Teacher Efficacy Campaign by bringing awareness, building and expanding teacher efficacy, to improve educational outcomes for an untold number of teachers, students and schools in our area.
